This is the Supo Greenhouse Market in downtown Chengdu. I'm going to visit Chengdu for 3 nights as part of a larger China trip, and I'm planning to stuff my face with as many different dishes as possible. A 'food marathon' I guess. I've got some pretty good street food/ noodle shops noted down but I'm struggling with dinner restaurants. So what are you guys' favourite restaurants for dinner? Here are my loose requirements: \-Classic Sichuan dishes on the menu, like huiguorou, gongbao jiding or yuxiang rousi. \-A nice atmosphere. It doesn't need to be fine dining but somewhere nice to sit down, preferably without too much cigarette smell. \-Central-ish location. I don't really want to be going north of Wenshu monastery, West of Du Fu thatched cottage museum, or South of Yulin road just for a dinner, but I can make exceptions. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I'm really looking into doing my bachelor degree in China (English taught) and I'm looking for advices.. I'd like to study either in Chengdu, Chongqing or Shenzen and I'm looking into IT related majors (my main choice would be Sichuan University) I'd like to get a scholarship as well, either CSC or whatever and i had a few questions and concerns.. Do I need to have a chinese language certification to apply to scholarships? Also is it possible to study the language for a year before getting into the bachelor? Do I need to ask help to am agency for the process or I can do it myself? Also, is it possible to get a part time job while studying? My background: Italian, 20yo, High school diploma with average grades, financially stable but not rich whatsoever. Why China? Anyone in the digital nomad groups on Facebook has probably seen the massive amount of spam from “Issa Compass” over the past year selling Thailand DTV visa services. They often use dozens of anonymous or fake Facebook accounts and tell people it’s worth paying Issa around $100 for the mental comfort of having their experts prepare your DTV visa application for you…. They also pretend to be satisfied customers, etc. However, several people have said their DTV services are actually closer to $500 and they said that after they paid Issa, communication suddenly dropped off. Many of their negative reviews are buried in hundreds of fake 5-star reviews on Google Maps and Trustpilot, for example this review from Basel E. a few months ago: “I’ve applied for a visa through ISSA Compass five times over the last eight months, and every single time they failed miserably. After each rejection, they had the nerve to tell me to move to a different city or even another country just to try again. I spent months dragging myself around the world based on their useless “advice,” and for what? Nothing. They advertise refunds, but that is an absolute lie. I lost almost $1,000 USD, and they didn’t return a single cent. They take your money, make empty promises, and disappear the moment things go wrong. The worst part? The documents they made me prepare were completely irrelevant to what the embassy actually requires. When I finally got fed up and went to a different agency, they asked for completely different documents, the correct ones. And guess what? My visa was approved in 4 days. Four days!!!! After eight months of ISSA Compass wasting my time, money, and energy. Hello. I'm moving to Chengdu soon and preparing to go through the business registration process to sponsor a work visa for myself. I'm curious if anyone else has gone through this and has any advice, or even better, any solid recommendations on service providers that are reasonably affordable. I'm also curious if anyone has information or experience with living in a mixed-used residential/business complex that can serve as both your residence and your business registration address.
